Joey update 8.24.08

Dear friends,

It has been a few weeks since Joey's MRI and it will be a month before we see his doctors again. We emailed his nurse practitioner to give us a preliminary report on the status of his tumor--she replied back that there was no growth. This is good news! The previous two MRI's before this one showed shrinkage but no growth is good too. His MRI schedule has been extended from every 3 months to every 6 months which is nice for us and a sign that the doctors think things will remain stable.

In a week or so, Joey will be going to see his new ophthalmologist who actually specializes in pediatric neuro ophthalmology. We are hoping that he will provide insight (get it?) on how to best preserve Joey's vision in his weak eye where the tumor has compressed that optic nerve.

Joey will be going back to preschool starting September 2nd. He has spent the summer going to summer camps, including a stint with the YMCA. He's done really well and we're very proud of him. He's also a great big brother. For photos and to see past blog entries, go to www.kuoparis.com

Thanks for being in our lives,
Jane, Jon, Joey and Nathan
